Prevention is key

  • To fight germs and keep them from spreading, cough or sneeze into a tissue, or your elbow.
  • Share a smile, instead of a handshake or hug.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly, for a minimum of 20 seconds, and clean shared surfaces.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick, and try not to touch your mouth, nose, and eyes.

What to do if you feel ill

  • Reach out to your health care provider immediately.
  • Avoid exposing others to your illness – even if you feel up to going out, you could pose a risk to someone who lacks your resilience.

Does taking my medication put me at higher risk?
Currently, there are no data showing increased risk for patients taking any specific medications. The CDC lists the following populations as higher risk for getting very sick:

  • Older adults
  • People who have serious chronic medical conditions like:
  • Heart disease
  • Diabetes
  • Lung disease

Should I stop taking my medication?
Do not discontinue taking any medication without discussing with your doctor. Talk to your doctor before making any changes to your therapy.

Can I obtain an early refill of my medications?
We understand your concern and desire to be prepared in response to the threat of COVID-19. Present conditions do not call for us to enact early refills, but we are monitoring the situation closely and will update our information and policy if or when the situation changes.

Can I cancel my order due to a delayed cycle?
If you wish to postpone your order, you may do so and we will place your prescription(s) on hold. If/when you decide to start your cycle, you can call can call and fill your order at that time. Prescriptions are valid for one year from the date written. Once medications are dispensed, they cannot be returned per pharmacy regulations.

Is my medication safe to take?
Yes, your medication is safe to take. We maintain rigorous safety standards for the inventory in our pharmacies, and follow guidance from the FDA, CDC and U.S. Preventive Services Task Force. We only dispense medications that are approved by the FDA for U.S. market. All drugs approved for use in the United States must comply with FDA manufacturing standards to assure quality and product label requirements.

Will COVID-19 cause shipping delays?
Freedom cannot speak on behalf of our shipping carriers. At this time, our shipping carriers (FedEx and UPS) have not given any indications that service will be suspended.

Can COVID-19 live on a pill bottle or packaging?
It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not the primary way the virus spreads. In general, coronaviruses do not live well outside of the body and the vast majority of transmission is by droplet from direct contact with infected individuals. Patients can take extra precautions by wiping down the external mailing package with a disinfectant wipe before they open, and always wash their hands after.

Can you tell me where my medication was made?
We only dispense medications that are approved by FDA for the U.S. market. All drugs approved for use in the U.S. must comply with FDA manufacturing standards to assure quality and product label requirements. The FDA oversees drug manufacturing and has staff in overseas regions (including China, India, Europe and Latin America) in order to expand oversight of imported medical products.

Can you send extra alcohol swabs with my medication order?
We will provide you with the items necessary for the preparation, administration and disposal of your medication. At this time, we will not dispense supplies beyond what is necessary.
